All dolled up

Thanks to a lovely gal pal, we tarried away in cosmetic powerhouse Sephora the week prior for their glamorous Express Services soiree, where we got dolled up by a platoon of amicable makeup mavens, were bequeathed nifty complimentary goodies for the face and for the stomach, and encountered new chummies (Carissa, Michelle, and Steppie) with a similar penchant for the art of blogging. 'Twas such fun to indulge in pampering and chitter chattering! Thanks a bunch, Katie, and Sephora Express Services!Do try out the Sephora Express Services if you're residing in the City of Angels! There are 3 additional days to dive into this event: this Saturday, October 3rd, in Century City, this Sunday October 4th, and next Thursday, October 8th, both in Santa Monica. So gather your gal pals and contact 'em here! Cheers, m'dears!

A montage of inspiration

strikes on whim whence dilly-dallying around and about the City of Angels, first through quaint age-worn brick-embedded thoroughfares, thence via irresistibly palatable organic foodie goodies to relish with lovely chummies of the crafty naturebefore bombarding Skirball for an aesthetically wondrous screening of French masterpiece Coco avant Chanel, where the turn-of-the-century costumes, vintage furniture, and illustrious cinematography within the climactic tale of France's most famed mademoiselle (brilliantly portrayed by the enchanting Audrey Tautou) before the unparalleled heights of her career as a world-renowned fashion designer, pulled at me heartstrings. 'Twas a most dandy evening!

Ode to the flea market

O flea market, how I adore thee, with your sun-baked premises swelling with oodles of time-honored goodies from nostalgic eras pastfrom foreign lands of the European whimsical variety.Time and time again, you capture mine heart with your prolific parade of vintage knick-knacksthat once more, successfully tempted me to snag for my keeping way more than a rustified 1940s bucket o' linens for a new project! Oh, I cannot wait to showcase my new regiment of vintage lovelies!

Her concurrence

The weather's been faring splendidly, and I've an inclination towards a sun-soaked picnic this afternoontide. Have you recollection of my post on a lovely chum's surprise birthday picnic from a couple of moons ago? Thanks be to I Came, I Saw, I Concurred who fancied the picnicking pleasantry and featured it on her lovely design & lifestyle monoblog.Take a gander at the amalgamation of loveliness with which she concurs around the world wide web, from fashion, to home decor, to product design, to advertising, to papergoods, to photography, to projects, and I've no doubt you'd concur with her concurrence of awe-inspiring eye candy!

The city on cupcakes

commenced with an architectural foundation of home-contrived red velvet cupcakesupon which to fashion a paper-makeshift cityscapereplete with towering skyscrapers, tree-endowed Central Park, glittering Broadway, iconic taxis, and throngs of New Yorkers, all miniscule reproductions of the cosmopolitan whirlwind dubbed the Big Apple
to bestow upon a friendly chap who shall now call New York City his new home.

A lovely addition

to the playground of a studio:rustified ice cream parlor chairs circa the 1940s!
Methinks the heart-wrought iron silhouette and time-honored rust expounds its captivating charm.

SoCal snow

The ravaging wildfires have been nothing short of a mind-boggling spectacle as they spawned 12 miles from Downtown the week prior and unfurled unrelentingly to hundreds of thousands of acres throughout the LA precinct. Be not fooled by the smog-resembling facade of the panorama captured from the nine-to-six's windows. 'Tis in actuality the smoldering afterglow of the wind-fueled firey monstrosity. The SoCal snow has bestowed upon us soot-bespeckled premises, plump plumes of smoke embellishing the skyline, distressed innards, parched air, and invariably sweltering heat akin to that of the Sahara o'er in our neck of the woods. But I hyperbolize. It really could be worse. I cannot even apprehend the willy-nillyness the firefighters and those being evacuated are undergoing. Coping mechanisms have come by way of luncheons at the savannahand ample ambles for froyo concoctions.
